Simmons is a research company that has been documenting the lives of American consumers for over 50 years. Founded in 1950 by Willard Simmons, the company has evolved into the leading authority on the American Consumer.

Every year, tens of thousands of households participate in the National Consumer Survey, which gathers information on the lifestyles, media habits, and product/brand preferences of American families.

Simmons, through a scientific process, randomly selects families throughout the country to represent people in their communities. We ask these households to tell us about what they eat, what they read and watch, the sports they play, the products they buy, and how they feel about the consumer decisions they make every day. Individual answers are kept strictly confidential. Once everyone's answers are returned and combined together, Simmons creates data that helps companies make better products and services, television networks create new and better shows - in general we help American businesses stay in touch with the American Consumer.

Simmons works very hard to represent the voice of all consumers. In addition to the National Consumer Survey of adults, Simmons also produces the National Kids Survey, National Teens Survey, and the National Hispanic Survey of over 10,000 Hispanic adults.

Simmons is owned by Symmetrical Resources, a marketing information company specializing in providing media companies, product marketers and retailers with statistical information about what American Consumers enjoy and want.
